The anatomy of a Daeling!
General anatomy-Brief overlook
Daelings are characterized by their wide limbs, a thick neck, round nubs, and an overall small size. This is in stark comparison to a quadrupedal adult which has long, thin limbs, nubs, and neck. Nostril placement is expected to lay between the top nubs and upper lip, however are optional on the application. Mouth may or may not be "connected" to the eye, but must be present. |

How to color your new Daeling!
Now that you have a grasp on proper Daeling anatomy we can move on to the coloration of your new friend.
First we will start with our base color, this is the large ring of the circle. Colors are found here. You may not make up your own palette. You're free to suggest them though! |
Next we will move on to secondary colors, you can pick up to 3 colors from the palette to place on your Daeling.
There are a few rules to keep in mind as you color. -Do not cover more than 60% of your Daeling with secondary colors. Generally if we can tell what the base color is you'll be fine! -Keep an eye on how you mark your Daeling. We want to make sure you don't have markings that are featured as upgrades; ie. Stripes. -Hooves are not 'accent' areas and must be a secondary color option. |
The next step is to pick a color for your nubs!
You can pick any color you can imagine for your Daeling's nubs but, you cannot use pure black or pure white to color their nubs, or very similar colors (including light options on their chosen palette). Nubs are to be ONE solid color only. They cannot be more than one color unless they are anniversary Daelings! Watch out! You can't change a Daeling's nub colors once you pick! The color you choose for your nubs will also be the color of the Daeling's magical effects! |
The last step will be coloring eyes! You can have two types of eyes on your Daeling: solid colors or dual colored. Just like with nub coloration, eyes can be any color under the sun as long as its not pure white or pure black or similar colors. Be careful when using light grays and light colors! If they're too bright they might look like your Daeling is blinded with Clouded Eyes! Dual colored eyes may have patterns (spots, bands, rings, etc.) as long as they are symmetrical and do not give the appearance of existing eye upgrades (such as colored pupil). Heterochromia will not be allowed as it's an upgrade! |
Do's and Don'ts of Markings
Here are some examples of how to apply some markings that you may want to use!
You do not have to use these specific markings, these are just guidelines if you wish to use something similar.

How to send in an application
Now that you have your Daeling designed and colored, its time to send them in for approval!
To set up the application for the approval you must first download the proper template. After that, it's quite simple; you place the Daeling and the palette you used in the correct positions, as well as adding their name to the name box! |
Once you have your template completed just post it with this information filled out:
Name: Name of your Devidae Gender: Remember, Devidae do not have a biological sex Slot used: EX.: Myo 1 You then count your devits! That's right, approval applications count for 3 devits, even if you need to make edits! |
Finally you can send your application in for approval! We will feature your comment when we notice you. It means we are working on your application. A FEATURED COMMENT DOES NOT MEAN ACCEPTED. |
Once your Daeling has been approved, you'll receive your Devidae's unique CCN. Once you add this new number to your description, the mod working on your application will accept it to the group!
